MediaPost: Showing the competition the red card
15.12.2011
Mediaservis launches its own delivery network entitled MediaPost in Prague and Brno at the beginning of December.
The letter carriers of MediaPost dressed in red uniforms shall progressively deliver classic daily post to citizens and companies in towns and municipalities with a population of over 3000. This freshly launched project shall culminate at the end of next year with the complete liberalisation of the postal market in 2013. MediaPost focuses exclusively on the domestic market. Within cycles of approximately two months it plans to extend its services to a further 400 towns and municipalities in the Czech Republic.
“We shall compete in terms of speed, quality of services and also price,” stated Michal Koliandr, statutory executive of the Mediaservis company. “This is not only about the different coloured uniform of our letter carriers. The professional postal delivery service of MediaPost is the first genuinely visible competition to the hitherto monopoly of the national postal operator,” added Koliandr.
Mediaservis is the largest alternative postal operator in the Czech Republic, with an annual turnover of over CZK 1 200 million. The company currently employs over 9 000 workers. It has been operating on the postal market since 1999 and since 2003 has had nationwide coverage throughout the Czech Republic.
